This piece of Northwest was assembled over the past 40 years by the late Al Milotte and wife Elma. They were world famous wildlife cinematographers, who spent their days away from what they called their "Island in the Sky" filming in exotic locations for Walt Disney's classic nature films of the 50's and 60's.
Over the years the couple added to their "ranch" and established a dream of creating a private and prestigious community where others could share in their vision and pleasure. Sky Island Ranch is the dream of Al and Elma Milotte.
Walt himself used to come here and visit the Milottes. Even wildlife pictures for some of Walt's movies were shot up here.
